Our interdisciplinary team combines knowledge from grantmaking organizations, social entrepreneurship, science, industrial psychology, and business.

We work on mandates in close exchange with each other, so that our entire expertise can flow into the process. Further experts are at our disposal for specific questions.

We are committed to social and ecological values and are therefore committed to being certified as a B Corp. As a spin-off of the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) of the University of Basel, we work with research-based approaches and innovative methods.
Dr. Sophie Hersberger-Langloh
Consultant and partner
Dr. rer. pol. Sophie Hersberger-Langloh is a practice-oriented economist. She researched and published at the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) of the University of Basel on the professionalization of nonprofit organizations. At Con·Sense, she now supports organizations on impact evaluation, governance, strategy and project development.
She is a TEDx-Speaker, lecturer for entrepreneurship at the University of Basel, and has hosted numerous events and conferences.
Lukas Hupfer
Consultant
Lukas Hupfer has first-hand knowledge of the needs and environment of non-profit organizations and foundations. As former managing director of the largest Swiss think tank on foreign policy "foraus", he set new impulses in the philanthropic sector with a consortium of foundations and various initiatives on diversity, volunteering and impact. In addition to his expertise in strategy and organizational development, Lukas has a broad network and extensive knowledge of working with politics and authorities. His great passion for social and societal change is not only reflected in his day-to-day work, but he also contributes as a facilitator for workshops and conferences.

Jelle Imkampe
Project collaborator
Jelle Imkampe studied economics and art history in Leipzig and Basel. Most recently, she worked as curatorial assistant at the Kunstmuseum Basel, where she oversaw exhibitions, publications and productions. She supports Con·Sense in various projects, among others she is responsible for NPO SkillShare.

Charlotte Melbert
Back office and project collaborator
Charlotte Melbert studied art history and business in Tübingen and Rome and completed her Master of Arts in art history and visual theory at the University of Basel and the eikones research center. She has also worked as a gallery manager, completed an internship at the Kunsthalle Basel and helped with the Regionale. She has first-hand experience of non-profit work in youth, church and student associations, where she has also held management positions. At Con·Sense, she is responsible for the smooth running of the organization and is involved in various projects.

Robert Schmuki
Consultant and partner
Robert Schmuki built up his own children and youth foundation between 1999 and 2014. Today, this foundation is one of the largest players in Switzerland in the field of children and youth. He was awarded various prizes for this development work. In 2014, he took over the directorship at the Pro Juventute Foundation, which he left in 2016 to join the Center for Philanthropy Studies at the University of Basel as a lecturer and responsible for executive education. His focus is on organizational and strategic development. In this context, he supported nonprofit organizations from the fields of culture, social affairs, and ecology in their development process between 2016 and 2020.
Christina von Rotenhan
Consultant
Christina von Rotenhan has spent 13 years designing and implementing projects and developing partnerships in the private and public cultural and educational sectors in Switzerland, Germany and the US. She is the founder of a Giving Circle in Basel for more impactful community giving. Since 2016, Christina von Rotenhan has been accompanying nonprofit organizations, funding foundations, and committed companies with a focus on project and organizational development and strategic partnerships. As a systemically trained consultant, she also accompanies organizations in change processes at Con·Sense.
Regula Wolf
Consultant and partner
Regula Wolf is an expert on questions relating to funding. She can draw on her many years of practical knowledge. She worked for 16 years in institutional funding, first at the Federal Office of Culture, then at Migros Culture Percentage, where she was head of the "Funding Grants" department and responsible for the cultural and social funding areas. As part of her consulting work, she has assisted numerous large and small funding organizations in the cultural, social and educational sectors. She has an extensive network in the Swiss foundation sector and knows the public and private funding landscape like no other.

Sandro Antonello
Consultant
Sandro Antonello studied industrial and organizational psychology at the University of Bern. Sandro only dived into the exciting world of NPOs a few years ago. Before that, he worked for Swiss as well as Swiss Post, among others, and was heavily involved in topics related to organizational development and HR. Early on, he developed a great interest in agile working methods and new work. He is currently working for the IdéeSport Foundation, where he is leading a transformation project towards an agile organization. In his daily work, he relies on New Work approaches and has a lot of fun doing so.
Prof. Dr. Georg von Schnurbein
Scientific advisor
Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Georg von Schnurbein is Professor of Foundation Management and Director of the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) at the University of Basel, which was initiated by SwissFoundations, the association of Swiss grantmaking foundations. He studied business administration with a minor in political science at the Universities of Bamberg, Fribourg and Bern and is the author of numerous publications on topics such as foundations, governance, nonprofit management and marketing.
A spin-off of the CEPS
The Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) was founded in 2008 on the initiative of SwissFoundations, the association of Swiss grantmaking foundations, and is a research institute on the multifaceted topic of philanthropy. In spring 2021, as a result of increased demand, the CEPS decided to initiate a spin-off of the institute in order to strengthen its practical work in facilitation and monitoring of operational work in this way.
This initiative gave birth to the consulting firm Consense Philanthropy Consulting. We are financially independent from the CEPS, but we are in a lively exchange with each other. Our company supports the CEPS in projects and events and the director of the CEPS, Prof. Dr. Georg von Schnurbein, is the link between research and practice as a shareholder and scientific advisor of Con·Sense.
